Im in love with the other guy?

I'm married, have been for two years. i keep on getting verbally abused and i cannot stand it anymore. he keeps saying he will work on it. BUT- there's never any change. me and my best friend have been getting a lot closer and we both love each other more than friends. and hes always been a sweet heart. treats me with more respect than anyone i know! should i go after my gut and heart and be with my best friend who is willing to wait for me or should i stick out my loveless marriage? any advice is appreciated.
