Wedding - need help with an 11 year old boy!?

Ok, I am getting married in July next year and I really want my best friends two children to be involved in the wedding party. She has a girl who will be seven (who with much debate about her age we have decided to make a flower girl - even if some think she is too old!) and a boy of 11. The problem is with the boy, he is a little too old to be a ring bearer but too young to be an usher and I am not sure what to make him!? I really want him to be involved in the wedding has anyone got any suggestions?
