So, I signed up for a jazz dance cl in college, and I need wardrobe advice!?

The teacher advised the girls to wear leotards and tights. I'm not a tiny dancer, so I'm a bit worried about so much Spandex. Are dance professors usually lenient about creating jazzy cover-ups?
