Why did Taker and Paul Bearer act like they met for the first time thru Bro Love if they had a past together?

Taker and Paul Bearer apparently have known each other their whole lives in storyline because of what happen with Kane and Bearer when Taker was a child and how Paul Bearer did Taker's mother. However, if that is true, why did Brother Love act like he was introducing Taker to Bearer for the first time and in like 91 or something
