Why would god allow Satan to hurt Job a man who faithfully followed him & worshipped him?

He allowed Satan to kill off his family his livestock made him severly sick & ill he lost everything that was dear to him. Again this is not a christian bashing question but i just don't understand why would god allow someone who followed & worshipped him unconditionally to suffer as much as he did just so he can prove some point to Satan. Again any replies saying that god is a myth a fantasy etc will be automatically ignored. I just want an answer or explanation to my question not your personal opinion on whether religion is good or bad or if god exists or not.
