Will sniffing gas kill a person?

I'v been studying this for a while now as a close friend of mine has been abusing solvents regardless of what I tell him, Today I found out his girlfriend had lost his and her baby and I'm really scared as he may consume more than his normal intake. He inhales lighter gas but has never sniffed a full 200ml canister. Would 200ml fatally kill him?
